Clarification on Cecconi for Lewiston Town Clerk

Last week the Niagara Falls Reporter intended to publish that Regina Scibilia Cecconi announced she will run in the Republican primary for town clerk of Lewiston in September.

A typesetting error eliminated the candidate's first two names, making it appear that Regina Scibilia Cecconi was known only by a single name, "Cecconi,," not entirely unlike such as "Cher," "Madonna" or "Beyonce."

For the record, Regina Scibilia Cecconi is a Republican and is expected to face present Town Clerk Donna R. Garfinkel, also a Republican, in the primary. Garfinkel was appointed last year by the town board after longtime clerk Carol Brandon retired in December.

No Democratic candidates have yet announced for the $47,000 per year position.
