Mayor Dyster presented his budget last week on October 1, right on time, unlike last year in which he held his proposed budget hostage for 37 days in violation of the city charter. As part of his budget dog and pony show he provided power point slides to buttress his claims of having practiced fiscal responsibility (NYS Comptroller's audit be damned) and delicate financial footwork. To listen the mayor you'd think he was a veritable Nik Wallenda walking a fiscal high wire above the roaring waters of economic disaster.
