MAZIARZ TO THE RESCUE!

They say state Sen. George Maziarz is going to be the new state senator under the nearly completed redistricting plan now being prepared in Albany, and we couldn't be happier.

Because -- Paul Dyster, Vince Anello, Irene Elia, Francine Del Monte, Antoine Thompson and other wannabes and pretenders aside -- Maziarz has always been the most important politician in Niagara Falls, even though in recent years he hasn't even represented any part of the city.

He's managed this because he truly believes that Niagara Falls is the key to the future, not only of Niagara County but of all Western New York. He's helped the city, even though he didn't technically represent it, because he knows that conditions in Buffalo, the Tonawandas and Lockport stand no chance of improvement so long as the city remains the cesspool that Dyster, Del Monte and others of their ilk have turned it into.

The other reason Maziarz has had his success is that he is the hardest-working politician in the region. In fact, we would go so far as to say he's one of the hardest-working politicians in the country. From early in the morning until late at night, seven days a week, he's making personal appearances, doing business lunches and dinners, meeting with constituents and taking care of their concerns, or standing on the floor of the state Senate Rotunda in Albany fighting for the interests of his constituents.

Mayor Dyster seemed most interested in picking a fight when informed of the Maziarz inevitability.

"It seems at times like he doesn't like much of the city, that he doesn't like the people who live here," Dyster said. "In the past, he's been on the outside and could be critical. Now he's going to have to work with other people the City of Niagara Falls has representing it, including me.

Dyster is a dishonest moron re-elected in November by less than 1 percent of the people of Niagara Falls. Like every single other moron who's served as mayor here, his political career will end once he leaves City Hall. On his best day, he's no match for Maziarz.
