The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York and Western New York today announced it has received a $15,000 donation from One Niagara, LLC and Cataract Tours, both of Niagara Falls. The donation is to help with the foundation's work in making wishes come true for local children dealing with life-threatening medical conditions.
"We appreciate this contribution towards granting the wishes of children in our local community. The positive impact of wishes on children and their families can be felt for a long time and we thank One Niagara and Cataract Tours for their support," said Tracy Gray, regional director of Development Buffalo.
Paul Grenga, Lewiston attorney and managing partner of the One Niagara tourism center, said "We are all struggling through this hard economy, yet little compares to the battle these little heroes wage every day." He added that if at all possible "it's even more important to pitch-in when times are tough. We are able to contribute today only because of the hard work of all our employees and tenants, so it is on their behalf that we make this donation."
One Niagara President Tony Farina added that helping the Make-A-Wish kids is very special indeed and said, "We are all so touched by the work of the foundation in making their dreams come true as they face their personal challenges."
Cataract Tours, owned by Niagara Falls natives Frank D'Agostino and Tom Kerr, operates a sightseeing tour agency from One Niagara. Make-A-Wish banners are proudly displayed on Cataract's two-dozen buses that take many thousands of tourists to visit the natural wonders and attractions throughout the Cataract City.
Among those attending the check presentation will be the two New York state elected officials representing Niagara Falls. Both Sen. Mark Grisanti and State Assemblyman John Ceretto, who each actively support the Make-A-Wish Foundation and other charities, are expected to be on hand to say a few words.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York and Western New York grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
