Niagara County Legislator Jesse Gooch is seeking to lead a movement and put pressure on Governor Andrew Cuomo to open entertainment venues such as The Riviera Theatre in North Tonawanda. Despite having a re-opening plan at 25% capacity that was approved by the Niagara County Health Department, NYS refuses to give the green light for any such venue to open across the state.

“Since 1926 the Riviera Theatre has been a staple in our community,” said Gooch. “Failure to let independent theatres like the Riviera open will result in their permanent closure. I want to thank Senator Rob Ortt, legislators Randy Bradt and Rich Andres along with mayor Arthur Pappas, Bob Pecoraro and the city council for joining me with our mission to #OpentheRiv.”

Signs can be purchased at the Riviera box office between October 14th and 15th between 12-3pm for $20. 100% of the proceeds go towards the theatre.
