The Niagara County Department of Health issued the following update on positive COVID-19 cases in Niagara County:

“Yesterday, we completed 119 rapid tests of teachers and staff in the Lockport School district who chose to get tested and I am very happy to report that all came back negative,” said Niagara County Public Health Director Daniel J. Stapleton.  “We know schools present unique challenges and there is no way around the fact we will have positive cases in our schools, but a combination of testing and following proper protocols is the key to mitigating exposure and spread.”

The rest of the update is as follows:

  • 12 new positive cases
  • Total of 1853 positives to date (isolations + recoveries + deaths)
  • 64 active cases (62 isolating at home, 2 in hospital)
  • 1688 recovered
  • 101 deaths
  • 102,763 people tested (source: https://covid19tracker.health.ny.gov/ )
