Niagara County will hold its annual Tax Foreclosure Real Property Live Auction on Saturday, August 13.

The auction will take place at the Shawnee Fire Hall at 3747 Lockport Road, Sanborn New York at 10:00 am. Registration will open at 8:00 am, and the auction will continue until all properties are sold.

Over 50 residential, commercial and vacant lot properties will be up for auction, onsite only.  The homes include single and double family homes and rental properties throughout the county.  Properties included in the sale are located in the Towns of Cambria, Lewiston, Lockport, Newfane, Pendleton, Porter, Royalton, Wheatfield, Wilson and Niagara.

Tax-defaulted property auctions help the county recoup lost tax revenues needed for public services and return property to the tax rolls.

“The taxpayers are the real beneficiaries of this auction,” said Auctions International President and CEO, Russ Scherrer.  “We are delighted to be working with the County of Niagara once again on this importantauction to help put more than 50 properties back on the tax rolls.”

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Shawnee Fire Hall will be serving breakfast and lunch the day of the auction. All proceeds will go to supporting Fire Hall activities.

All bidders are required to register by showing a valid driver’s license or other form of identification. Anyone owning back property taxes in the county will not be eligible to bid until the back tax amount has been paid in full.

Participants interested can preview the properties online at www.auctionsinternational.com.

Free copies of the complete tax catalog will be available for inspection in the Office of the Niagara County Treasurer at the Brooks Building, 59 Park Avenue, Lockport, New York 14094 (439-7007)
