Memorial announces Premier 2017 co-chairs

Dharshan and Shannon Jayasinghe and Dr. Michael and Liz Mitchell have been named co-chairs of The 2017 Premier, Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center’s annual black tie dinner and entertainment gala.

Dharshan Jayasinghe is chief executive officer of bizWin Strategies, a national executive search and recruiting firm that provides innovative and cutting edge executive search, recruiting, business intelligence and strategy consultation services to customers in the banking, healthcare, information technology, insurance, and manufacturing industries. Shannon Jayasinghe is president of the company’s Healthcare Division.

Both are passionate about social responsibility and community service. Dharshan is an American Heart Association board member and Shannon chairs the association’s Go Red for Women campaign. They are committed to improving the health and wellness of communities, fighting heart disease and cancer, promoting hospice care, improving access to college education, responding to domestic and international natural disasters and ecological restoration.

Dr. Mitchell has been a member of Memorial’s medical staff since 2005. A general, vascular and laparoscopic surgeon, he serves as Memorial’s chief of vascular surgery and as medical director of its nationally recognized Wound Center of Niagara.

Liz Mitchell is a registered nurse with a background in cardiac critical care. She works with Dr. Mitchell in his private practice and is passionate about helping others maintain a healthy lifestyle and fostering rescue animals.

The 2017 Premier will be held at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino on Saturday, Jan. 14.  Proceeds from the 2017 Premier will be dedicated to Memorial Medical Center’s Full Circle of Heart Care, a comprehensive heart health improvement initiative that focuses on inpatient innovations, caregiver education, primary care delivery and care management interventions to combat cardiovascular disease in Niagara and beyond.
