The City of North Tonawanda is still in awe after a brutal assault captured on video this week.

The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, July 1st, 2020, took place at North Tonawanda High School and involved three teenage girls allegedly assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

The video, which has spread across social media, was captured on Snapchat by another teenage girl.

In the video, which spans about one minute and twenty second (link here:https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=293854385097682), you can see the three girls taking turns punching, kicking, and slapping the victim. There is also mention in the video, and police have confirmed subsequently, that urine was also thrown on the girl.

The video is truly horrific to watch.

After the incident, the community has rallied to support the victim, Amelia, during such a difficult time. Within hours of the incident, the North Tonawanda girls softball team posted on social media to raise money for Amelia.

The post, pictured above, seeks to raise money in order to assist Amelia in purchasing new clothes for the upcoming school year.

Shortly thereafter, a Go-Fund-Me page was created by a relative of Amelia. The page states, “My little cousin was viciously attacked from multiple girls in North Tonawanda, NY yesterday. She in no way provoked them in any way and this brutal attack has left her injured both physically and mentally. Not only did they break her glasses, she has a concussion and several bruises. My heart is aching for this beautiful little girl who has nothing but love in her heart. I’m setting up this go fund me to bless her a little and show her that there are good people in this world and that she is loved.”

As of today, the Go-Fund-Me page has raised over $4,000. If you would like to donate, the link is: https://www.gofundme.com/f/fm5bh-raising-money-for-amelia?utm_source=customer&utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet&utm_medium=copy_link-tip
