The Village of Lewiston Republican caucus was held last week and attended by approximately 100 people. There, the following candidates secured positions on the ballot for the June 17th election:
Village of Lewiston Mayor – Terry Collesano
Village of Trustee (4-year term) - Bruce Sutherland
Village of Trustee (4-year term) - Victor Edyt
Village of Trustee (2-year term) - Daniel Gibson
Mayor Collesano defeated Democrat challenger, Jamie Symmonds, by a 3 to 1 margin.
The three Republican trustees will run unopposed for the three spots on the Republican side since the two Democratic candidates were disqualified due to a legal mistake.
Jamie Symmonds challenged the mayor at the Republican caucus as a Democrat with Republican supporters. She lost 3 to 1. However, she still has the option to petition her way on to the ballot for the June 17th election. |
