Youngstown, New York is a quaint and historic village located in the Town of Porter, 11 miles north of Niagara Falls, New York and has waterfront on the Niagara River and Lake Ontario.

The Youngstown Labor Day Parade begins at noon on Monday, September 5, along Main Street.

This old-fashioned “fireman’s parade” is a tradition started by the community’s volunteer fire company more than 80 years ago. It features marching bands, floats, and the participation of area police and fire companies and their fire trucks, youth groups, political officials, union organizations, local veteran’s groups, dance troupes and area businesses.

The parade is followed by the annual Porter on the Lake “Summerfest”, hosted along the shores of Lake Ontario. Summerfest takes place from 3-9 pm at Porter on the Lake Park, located on Lake Road (Route 18) just outside the village. The event will feature food, vendors, beer and wine, as well as live music including a Jimmy Buffet tribute band.  Pony rides, a petting zoo and face painting will be offered to children.

There will be fireworks at night.

The event will be held rain or shine. Admission to Summerfest is $5 per adult with children 12 and under admitted free. Proceeds go directly to improvements at the park. For more information or to assist, call 716-754-9500 or email chamber@niagarariverregion.com.
