Almost all the chairs were full, this week as the North Tonawanda Common Council passed several items. Among them was permission to remove 315 Falconer Street from the appropriate In-Rem foreclosure proceeding. They also approved a budgetary transfer to reimburse expenditures related to the award from the Department of Criminal Justice. Also granted was permission to have the 2018 Fireman’s Day Parade.

Some changes to the North Tonawanda Fire Department were also announced. Timothy Berecz was appointed to the position of Assistant Fire Chief and Kyle Stevener was appointed to the position of Captain.

Sally Czaja and Kathleen Gannon were reappointed to the Commissioner of Deeds for the City of North Tonawanda.

Permission was also granted to close the Renissaunce Bridge on Sunday May 27th and have a parade down Payne Avenue for the annual Memorial Day Celebration.

They will also close Master Street on June 16th for a block party.

Veterans park also got the go ahead to place a sign in from front from May 6th -20th and from July 8th-the 22nd to advertise services at the park.

A sign will also hang on Payne Avenue near Memorial Pool from May 14th to June 3rd to advise their concert at the Riviera.

Also approved by the Council was permission to hang a banner on Payne Avenue and Oliver Street from June 20th to July 16, to promote the fishing derby.

Lastly the approved the request for permission to hold an outdoor service at Brauer Park on Sunday July 1st, 2018.
