Niagara Falls politics has frequently been described by those on the outside looking in as the dirtiest and nastiest of all brands of politics practiced in western New York. In that spirit of downright dirty and needlessly unpleasant behavior the supreme Niagara Falls' artist Gerald Skrlin has equated the Niagara Falls brand of the democratic process with the act and profession of piracy. While Councilman Bob Anderson has been the top vote-getter in his three successful elections he has been treated shabbily by the City Democratic Committee and by Mayor Dyster.
Councilman Anderson as pictured has artfully, and thematically, been transformed into a peg-legged buccaneer ready to do battle with the likes of those who lay claim to the top positions of leadership in the city and county Democratic Party...people and party who turned their backs on Anderson three times as he won election to the council. September 10 is primary day and the Air Force veteran Anderson is poised to come through the primary victorious as he seeks a fourth term. If past proves to be prologue then Buccaneer Bob will mop the deck with the likes of those who would like to keel haul his political career and send him to Davy Jones' locker.
