When I was elected to the Niagara Falls City Council, I entered into office with a ton of ideas. I was very optimistic and full of enthusiasm to get things done. Now, four years later, I am very frustrated.
I'm frustrated for Niagara Falls as a whole, as we are consistently taken for granted and smugly dismissed by our leadership.
We can do better.
For decades now our city leaders have routinely ignored major issues in our city and we have given them a pass. For example, for four years I have been yelling into a black hole about the spending of our taxpayers money and the lack of solutions. The Mayor arrogantly casts the blame down the road, he has even exhibited a level of complacency and with this, we should all be frustrated .
Mayor Dyster has been reacting to issues instead of leading and look where it's gotten us:
Families without water, a trash program that is failing miserably, empty storefronts, people leaving town and the list goes on (a Mayor should take this personally).
Almost a decade and no real plan for the casino money (as it costs us, the taxpayer $20 million a year).Higher property taxes combined with millions paid out and nothing to show for it, this is a direct failure in leadership. Things of this nature also lessen community pride and civic involvement.
We cannot go another year without solutions and we cannot give someone a pass for having eight years to do something and achieving nothing. I hear a lot of people saying that after eight years "Enough is Enough," and that is why I am running for Mayor in the city of Niagara Falls.
I not only think we can do better, I know we can do better.
Campaign season is here and I invite you to help me kickoff my campaign for Mayor for the city of Niagara Falls. I am excited to see the familiar faces that have supported me for so many years in the past and welcome those who are new.
My campaign has always been focused on YOU – the hard working people of Niagara Falls who will make this grassroots campaign a success.
I am hosting a kickoff event on Wednesday May 27th 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the LaSalle Yacht Club 73 South 68th Street Niagara Falls. I invite the whole community to join us for the start of a "New" Niagara Falls.
Also my website: www.your-next-mayor.com will be going live on that day.
Please go to our website to see upcoming events and news, also you can find out there how to support my campaign and learn how to be involved this year.
I look forward to detailing some of my ideas and earning your vote over the next few months and, as always, my door is open and I welcome your thoughts and ideas.
