Sex Offender Leaves ‘Enjoy Motel’

November 25, 2014

He's leaving home, bye, bye.

Not too long ago, Jimmie L. Powell III, a registered sex offender located in the "Sex Offender Capital of the World" - Niagara Falls -- took up residence in no less a dwelling place than the improbably named "Enjoy Motel" at 5655 Niagara Falls Blvd.

He was sure to "enjoy" his stay here.

In 2102, Powell was sentenced to 2½ years in state prison for having sexual contact with a 15-year-old in 2011. Powell, 45, also faced 15 years of parole-like post-release supervision after his prison term for his guilty plea to third-degree criminal sexual act.

He initially was charged with having sex with the girl repeatedly from Dec. 20 to 22.

Powell previously served four years in prison after being convicted in 2001 of abusing two girls, ages 6 and 7.

Back in 2012, in his statement to Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas, Powell asserted, “I’m not a threat to society. I’m an asset to society. … I’m harmless.”

Anyway, when the harmless Powell got out he came right to Niagara Falls and the above mentioned Enjoy Motel. But, despite his happy residence there, as of press time, the Reporter received an "NY Alert" which because the Reporter is "registered to receive notification when an offender moves into or out of your requested area."

The NY alert read, "We are notifying you of a move into/out of the area you specified. Jimmie Powell has moved from 5655 Niagara Falls Blvd., Niagara Falls, NY 14304 to Niagara County Jail 5526 Niagara Street Ext, Lockport, NY 14094."

Jimmie we hate to see you go.
