Schumer confused over location of Train Station

June 17, 2014

US Senator Chuck Schumer is confused about downtown

Sen. Charles Schumer (D- N.Y.) who attended the train station ground breaking last week, apparently became convinced that the Whirlpool Bridge in the city's North End was actually downtown.

"Now we can all look forward to the days when Niagara Falls visitors pull in on their train right into downtown," Schumer said. "Moving the station downtown is going to encourage tourists to stop over for a day or for a few nights."

The new train station is nearly as far away from the falls, the casino and anything else a visitor might want to see here as the current train station located on Lockport Rd. near Hyde Park Blvd. And the 25 or so vagrants and drifters who get on or off the train here every day likely won't notice the difference.
