While Millions Abort, Thousands Wish They Could Conceive, Especially During the Holidays

December 03, 2014

For people struggling with infertility, the holidays can be a particularly challenging time. Baby reminders are everywhere including holiday cards, children waiting in Santa Claus lines, and let's not forget family gatherings where relatives often announce new pregnancies and make inquiries into your baby plans.

But don't be a baby about it.

Sure, there's no denying it, the holidays are all centered around family and for couples struggling to start their family it can be a lonely time.

To help those dealing with infertility issues during the holidays, our local fertility experts have provided a few tips.

1: The holidays are for everyone, not just children. It's your holiday too and it's ok to take care of yourself even if it means skipping a few events.

2: It is natural to feel sad about not having a baby. Do not suppress your feelings; your feelings are valid and fertility experts are available to discuss your options to start a family.

3: Most importantly, know that there are many effective fertility treatments available to help you realize your family dreams.

While millions can have babies but don't want them and thus end their pregnancies with abortion, others desperately want a child and can't have one.

And that's something to consider and perhaps even pray about during this holiday season.
