Dr. Vattipally Joins Memorial Hospital

Dr. Vikram Vittipally is accepting new patients


Vikram Reddy Vattipally, M.D., M.S., M.R.C.S., a bariatric and minimally invasive specialty surgeon, has joined the medical staff at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

American Board certified in General Surgery, Dr. Vattipally recently completed his fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic/Bariatric Surgery at Penn State University's Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Dr. Vattipally's specialty interests, including robotics, will expand Memorial's growing bariatric and robotic surgery capacity. His bariatric surgery procedures include laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass and Sleeve Gastrectomy. Other minimally invasive/robotic surgical procedures performed by Dr. Vattipally include foregut (upper gastro-intestinal) surgeries, single incision gall bladder removal and abdominal wall hernia repairs including complex hernias.

Dr. Vattipally has been widely published in peer reviewed surgical journals on an array of topics and he has presented at many international scientific meetings. He was selected as Outstanding Resident of the year for 2013 by The Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and Best Resident Teacher in 2012-2013 at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center in New York.

A graduate of Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India, Dr. Vattipally completed surgical residencies in the United States, United Kingdom and India. He is certified in General Surgery by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, United Kingdom and NTR University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh, India.
