Grandinetti Dances to Tune Babes To Raise Money for Planned Parenthood

Kristen Grandinetti

Party Hardy for abortion.

Dancing drunk in the night.

Bumper stickers on Kristen Grandinetti’s car show her priorities.

The Niagara Falls Reporter makes no editorial judgment on the positions of pro-life or pro-choice.

But Niagara Falls Council Member Kristen Grandinetti is an embarrassment no matter what side of the issue you are on.

In the summer of 2011, as a sitting council member, she hosted a buffet, wine and dance party at Wine on 3rd, to raise money for local Planned Parenthood.

The event was called Rockin' for Choice," and music was from a band called "Tune Babes."

In the past, she has told voters she is a Catholic.

But even if she is a practicing pagan or Wiccan who would dance in the night for abortion funding, what idiot would name it "Rockin' for Choice?"

What insensitive clod would hire a band called Tune Babes, when many people including Catholics think abortion is actually the slaughter of innocent babes?

But forget all that.

The scene is a little grotesque.

An elected official, Grandinetti and her comrades, gorging first with a gluttonous, all-you-can-eat-buffet, and loaded with alcohol, are dancing in the dark, in a tavern, the music blaring from the Tune Babes; they are rockin' in the night, celebrating the right to have abortions.

She trivializes the entire subject.

Even those who believe in the right to have abortions know that most women come to it not partying and dancing drunk, but with fear and dread and sorrow.

Couldn't such a serious fundraising issue be treated with some solemnity?
