For the time being, work on Lewiston Road is continuing.
Last week, we reported on an unplanned work stoppage over concerns about payment. As of last Wednesday (March 13), those issues were addressed.
Accadia Site Contracting, the city's contractor for the job, confirmed that they returned to work.
"We're going to try to get the project done, keep track of everything, and just proceed accordingly," said Anthony Milone, the project manager.
A problem developed with a waterline that had to be relocated, which caused an issue with a phone line that was not supposed to be touching it under the original plan. The city's consulting engineer, Wendel Duchscherer, had initially refused to authorize the additional work, but has since agreed.
