'Yellow' Journalism Attacked
I have read the article "Animal Activists Protest Squirrel Hunting Contest." The blatant bias conveyed in it, replete with the colorful promotion of squirrel meat, makes a mockery of the Niagara Falls Reporter masthead statement: "The Truth is Always Fair." The article most certainly is not fair. It is instead 'journalism' as yellow as someone who would shoot a squirrel.
Most sincerely,
Mary Finelli

Reporter too Negative
How do I get a job at this newspaper? I qualify as being the most negative person in the world besides your contributors. Have you idiots ever written anything positive about the city of Niagara Falls or their leaders? You guys are all critics but never seem to have answers for the things you criticize. You must have all been fired from previous jobs and held onto the bitterness. Your paper is a joke. Good thing my read of this paper was one and done. Out!!!!!!

Glad We Have Reporter
I have just finished reading my current copy of Niagara Falls Reporter, and I hasten to congratulate you on yet another hard-hitting edition. I am old enough that I have personally witnessed the purposeful degradation of our once-great city of Niagara Falls in order to line the pockets of a favored few, both financially and politically. It is fitting that you also have had articles on the mob activities in recent editions. The only thing that has changed from then to the present time is the more sophisticated and less flamboyant manner of operation of today’s “mobsters,” whether in the business world or in the legislature.
There are many of us transplanted New Yorkers here in Florida. Wherever gathered, either a local group, or in a large gathering such as the TNT Reunion, the conversation inevitably, without fail, comes around to Niagara Falls and how one of the wonders of the world has been diminished and degraded to the has-been status it now enjoys.
The media seems to have bigger political and financial fish to fry. If it wasn’t for the Niagara Falls Reporter, many of the more important local matters would never be brought to our attention. Keep up the good work.

Guns Not to Blame
In many recent headlines we have hearing about the issue of “GUN LAWS.” Some political figureheads are telling us that we need to outlaw guns. They want you to believe that the guns are responsible for committing the crimes. I am sorry, but when did a gun pick itself up and fire on its own? Someone is holding that gun. Someone is pulling that trigger.
I recently received a degree in criminal justice. One of the first things that I learned is that it is the person that commits the crime. If I had the call I would be buying a one-way bus ticket for people like Andrew Cuomo and sending them home.

Sign Up Palin?
Why does so much of your content come from cnsnews.com? Is the "Reporter" turning into a low budget Faux News or Newsmaxx? Now that Sarah Palin is no longer under contract to Faux News, will Mr. Parlato be signing her up?

Gun Laws Just the Beginning
You can’t let government executives get their foot in the door with restrictions on the Right to Bear Arms. They will leverage that to enforce decrees and austerity, brand civil discourse as "extremist" and deploy surveillance against their political opposition. The executives have lied to the citizens about most things since 1963.

Paladino 'Right On'
In the Jan. 29 paper, I saw Gov. Carl Paladino's eloquent and spot-on column about Mark Grisanti and how he, in regard to gun rights and representing moral values, has done a poor job for his constituents. He was put in because the people thought he had a good conscience; sadly, he sold out to the New York City class of elitists.
And on guns, that column is so spot-on. The best way to make sure government does not run amok... is to make sure the people are free to arm themselves in order to repel such tyranny. Don't today's crop of "leaders" read their history books? Do they not know of Adolf Hitler's disarmament of the Jews... which eventually led to the death camps?
Andrew Cuomo and his NY City band can keep their liberalism to themselves, and on their side of the I-390 corridor; our side of 390 is the Commonwealth of Niagara, and we do things differently here.
Gov. Carl Paladino, lead the way!

Don't Push Scientology
I want to warn The Niagara Falls Reporter about Glenn Gramigna’s article on the abuses of psychiatry. It appears Gramigna has presented unsubstantiated claims as facts.
While I'm certain there are abuses within the field of psychiatry, as there are in any field, I respectfully ask that the paper please refrain from helping the cult of Scientology spread its propaganda that all drugs are evil in any and every situation. Scientologists believe that their brainwashing techniques cure all ailments; those who truly need medication, whether it be for bipolar disorder, cancer or a heart condition, are forbidden to use it. As a result, the cult has contributed to the unnecessary deaths of many. These unfortunate individuals succumbed to the cult's brainwashing and so were duped into thinking that paying big bucks for Scientology courses would cure them.
I am not against religious freedom. Scientology always uses this cry when the cult is criticized. Scientology bills itself as a religion in order to avoid paying taxes on the millions of dollars that it extorts from its followers. Scientology is not a religion, but a cult of greed, control, power and lies.
Because the cult uses these Scientologist-written "puff pieces" as a way of recruiting new members. I ask that the Reporter remove the Graminga article immediately, and be wary of any submissions from him or other cult members in the future.

What About Non-Union Rights?

In response to Frank Parlato's article in the Reporter about the upcoming Niagara Falls CSD capital improvement project: Why does this project have to be done by Unions? This project should be competitively bid because PLA drives the costs of construction up due to no competition and wastes tax dollars. Everyone's tax money, union/nonunion is used on these projects. The Niagara Falls CSD has nonunion families that pay taxes too but can't work on this project. The state is paying 100% which should give everyone in New York State the right to bid. What a farce that all the union members are from Niagara Falls. They are from Newfane, Lockport, Barker, Wilson, Lewiston, Rochester, Batavia, Buffalo, & etc. Why are nonunion workers being discriminated against? Why does the union think they have the alienated rights to this work? PLA only fuel corruption which has plagued this area forever.
