Niagara Falls Kennel Club to Participate in Jan. Dog Show at Hamburg Fairgrounds

The Nickel City Cluster Dog Show, consisting of The Kennel Club of Buffalo and The Kennel Club of Niagara Falls, will take place at the Fairgrounds Event Center, in the Expo and Grange Buildings, from Thursday, January 9 to Sunday, January 12.

Dogs from throughout the United States and Canada representing nearly all of the 162 recognized breeds will compete for American Kennel Club championship points and rankings.

Judges will evaluate the dogs on how they conform to the standard for their breed, including appearance, balance, coat, condition, movement, structure and attitude.

The show includes a Specialty Show by the Golden Retriever Club of WNY, a Canine Eye Clinic on Friday, Microchip Clinics on Saturday and Sunday, and a public educational event “Meet the Breeds,” in which all breeds are welcome to participate on Sunday.

In addition to conformation shows, obedience trials and rally trials will be held in the Grange Building.

Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors 62 and over, and children 12 and under are $5.

There will be no strollers allowed for the safety of both dogs and children. For more information and registration, call Karen at 627-5839.
