Dementia Care Conference Set Friday

Family and professional caregivers will learn about the latest research into Alzheimer’s disease and how to best care for their loved ones with dementia during a daylong Dementia Care Symposium in Cheektowaga on Friday (April 19).

Dementia care experts Dr. Sandra Black and Dr. Amy D’Aprix will deliver addresses covering research updates and the conversations people need to have with and about their loved ones with dementia.

Rep. Brian Higgins is expected to deliver the opening remarks. The conference is sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association, WNY Chapter, with breakout sessions tailored to cover specific topics geared toward those who provide care for their family members, and for professional healthcare providers.

Dementia experts will share their experience and insights, as well offer advice on everything from hygiene concerns to financial planning.”

The conference will take place in the Millennium Hotel, 2040 Walden Ave., from 8 a. m. through 4:30 p. m. Opening remarks are expected at 9 a. m. Registration is open for family and professional caregivers at: www.alz.org/wny or by calling 1-800-272-3900.
