Richards is the Best Supervisor, as Niagara's Success Proves

By Mary Corio

I have lived in the Town of Niagara most of my life and want to express what a privilege and honor it is to be a resident of a town that has a supervisor like Steve Richards.

There is no denying that Steve’s “open door” availability, reliability, and sincerity in dealing with people, case by case or in groups, has preserved our town’s reputation of being neighborly and friendly. There is so much to be thankful for as a resident here. The leaders in our government are ‘people oriented’ and friendly to deal with.

We have an A+ police department, fire department, and the staff and officials at Town Hall are approachable and hospitable.

Steve Richards not only pays heed to the needs of and respects the well-being of the residents of the Town, he has proven to me time and again that he also loves and cares about animal welfare.

As a volunteer and advocate for the SPCA of Niagara and several local animal rescue organizations, I am grateful to have a Supervisor who cares about all of God’s creatures.

I am reminded of the quote by Mahatma Gandhi: “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."

Mr. Richards recently became one of many Corporate Benefactors for the SPCA of Niagara.

He is loyal and faithful to support all efforts to ensure a better future and affiliation between the Town of Niagara and SPCA of Niagara. Plans are in process for a dog park between Niagara and Wheatfield townships.

While other towns and cities have declined, the Town of Niagara has prospered at an amazing rate in the years Steve has held office.

The revenue from the many businesses in the district not only help keep town taxes low, but also help to add amenities to the town, i.e. the remarkable town recreation/senior center and striking surroundings, many updated parks for children throughout the town.

Thank you Steve - continue the good work!
