Reporter to hold public meeting to address Lewiston Road

Enough is enough.

The Niagara Falls Reporter Publisher Frank Parlato and Senior Editor Tony Farina are willing to meet with all interested Lewiston Road residents and the general public at the Maple School Elementary Auditorium on Tuesday, Sept 18 at 7 PM, to air out challenges facing residents of Lewiston Road.

Lewiston Road (see stories on pages 13 and 17) has been a long-delayed road construction project that is presently in litigation with work suspended, amid allegations of radioactive hazards that might be effecting residents health.

Mr. Parlato proposes that, if residents are interested, a group should be formed and that the Reporter will lend support to this group by giving it space as a voice in its publication and to assist in gathering information for research and publication.

The meeting at the Maple Avenue School, 952 Maple Avenue, intersecting Lewiston Road, will be conducted under Mr. Parlato’s chairmanship. Elected officials, environmental experts and members of the media will be invited. All are invited.

Among topics to be addressed will be health threats, if any, scope of work, litigation, engineering and to hear from residents and to discuss all pertinent facts to ensure safe and proper work is accomplished.

The meeting will NOT be held under the auspices of any government agency, but rather is a meeting of the people.

Date: Tuesday evening 7 PM, September 18, 2012; Maple Avenue School.
