Unemployment Rate Plummets to 4.3%--For Government workers

The best news anywhere in the U.S. economy over the past three months has been in the government sector, where unemployment dropped from 5.7 percent in July to 4.3 percent in September, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The Obama administration added 10,000 government employees to the federal government's payroll since July, according to BLS.

In September, the number of civilian federal employees was 2,814,000 not including the military, the Central Intelligence Agency and the NSA.

State governments too are enjoying the pro-big government push and added a net of 17,000 new workers to their taxpayer-funded payrolls over the past three months. In September the number of state employees was 5,069,000.

The national unemployment rate is 7.8 percent. It was around 5 percent when Obama took office.

If this keeps up, everyone can work for government.

Only problem? Who will be left to pay for it?

The 17th annual "Where We Are on TV" report released Friday by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) found that 4.4 percent of actors appearing regularly on prime-time network drama and comedy series during the 2012-13 season will portray lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) characters. This is up from 2.9 percent in 2011. The HBO drama "True Blood" features six LGBT characters. (AP Photo/HBO, John P. Johnson)
