Memorial publishes community service plan

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center’s 2011-2012 Community Service Plan Update is now available for public inspection.
The report includes an assessment of public health priorities and Memorial’s strategies for addressing several priorities identified in conjunction with the New York State Department of Health’s Prevention Agenda.

“This is part of an ongoing process and we welcome comments and recommendations from those who live and work in the communities we serve,” Memorial President & CEO Joseph A. Ruffolo said.

Copies of the report are being sent to a number of public facilities in order to make it easily accessible. Those sites include:
* Niagara Falls City Hall and both city libraries
* Niagara, Lewiston, Porter and Wheatfield town halls
* Niagara County Courthouse

Copies may also be obtained by visiting www.nfmmc.org.

Memorial President, Joseph Ruffolo, (above) has presided over an historic transformation at the 117-year-old community-owned hospital: When he began in 2002, the Hospital was a hugely bleeding money loser ($5 million per year). He made it into an efficient medical facility that manages to break even while still providing around $8 million in charity services every year to indigent patients. On top of that, the Hospital has developed a top notch staff of Doctors, nurses and general staff, along with surprising investments into expansion, equipment and technology. Memorial is becoming widely known as a premier hospital.
