Another presidential campaign for Pigeon

Last week local political consultants G. Steven Pigeon and Gary Parenti were in Florida. Pigeon was coordinating lawyers for poll watching and voter protection for the Obama campaign in Dade and Broward counties. Parenti was running a team of canvassers.

Pigeon is an old hand at presidential elections having been active in the campaigns for Ted Kennedy; as a senior staff campaign member for Gary Hart. He worked in the Florida primary for Mike Dukakis. In 1992, he was field coordinator for Bill Clinton in New York and, in 1996, upstate New York coordinator for Clinton. He was a senior coordinator for Richard Gephardt and, in 2008, for Hilary Clinton. After she lost the primary he worked Florida - as he is doing this year - for Obama.

Tharon Johnson, the Southern regional director of the Obama campaign, personally asked his friend Pigeon to come to Florida to help out.
