As reported last week, the Reporter is looking into an ongoing investigation by the NY State Attorney General’s office into Town of Niagara Supervisor Steve Richards that may involve a catch basin and some gravel that Richards was alleged to have taken from the town improperly.

The Reporter looked into the matter and discovered that the gravel and catch basin were caught on photos and according to sources were paid for by Richards at full price.

The photos are telling, but maybe not in the way you think.

After Richards obtained the gravel and catch basin, he left it out on the front of his automotive repair shop, Richards Automotive for, it seems, approximately two years.

The gravel and catch basin were ultimately used to improve his parking lot at the auto shop.

The Reporter managed to obtain photos of the rumored “stolen” items.

Actually, it was not hard since they are available on Google Earth when you type in Richards’ business address, 5000 Sweet Home Road, Town Of Niagara, 14305.

From the photographs one can see the gravel had been sitting in a pile on the front of his property long enough for grass to grow up between the stones.

The catch basin was in plain sight for anyone to see.

What thief puts his stolen goods out on his front lawn for more than a year?
