Thanksgiving day message from Mayor Dyster

By Hon. Paul A. Dyster

Hon. Paul A. Dyster
Mayor of Niagara Falls, NY

As we approach this holiday season, we extend sincerest best wishes to the citizens of Niagara Falls. May this season bring peace, joy and gratitude for the blessings we have received, and bring optimism and promise for our years ahead.

Though we have encountered and continue to face challenges, we have much for which to be thankful. Our City welcomed a record number of tourists in 2012, and we continue to develop more opportunities for visitors to enjoy the Niagara Falls, NY experience. The opening of the Culinary Institute, redevelopment of LaSalle Waterfront Park, and start of environmental remediation at Tract II are three valuable projects undertaken this year, and are all vital to setting the stage for future economic development. We are looking forward to a brighter future, as these and other projects attract attention from the business community and encourage pride in our local community.

In this season, as in others, it is important that we remember the less fortunate and are mindful of their struggles. Let us love, share and give in the spirit of compassion and humanity.

Happy Thanksgiving!
