Cataract Grill at Players is Top Shelf

If you are looking for a wide variety of tasty bar food, cooked to your specifications, try the Cataract Grill at the Players Sports Bar & Lounge at 328 Niagara Street in Niagara Falls, across the street from the casino.

“We have dine in or take out, and daily specials with fresh fish on Fridays,” says owner Doug Van Wormer who has been a chef at several local eateries and who seems to have found the perfect niche at Players.

Several of us stopped at Players last Thursday night to have something cold to drink and maybe try the food, and it worked out just great with the NFL Network game on one of the many television screens above the bar and the odor of freshly cooked food tickling our palates.

But the best part of the stop may have been the crispy chicken wings, nicely prepared mozzarella sticks and the juicy burgers cooked to perfection.

But there’s a wide selection of food to pick from at the Cataract Grill, including burgers of all sorts, steak and chicken and wraps, all at modest prices. A steak and cheese wrap with lettuce, tomato and onion will only set you back $5.99.

The grill is located at the back of the cheery pub and all you need to do is give them your order and they will bring it to your bar stool or your table to enjoy. And the big plate of fries and double order of mozzarella sticks attracted a few drifters and new friends to our table which was quickly surrounded.

It was a good stop and we highly recommend it to the bar-food crowd who may be looking for something a cut above the normal. You will find it at the Cataract Grill. You can order take out at 716-990-8482.
Enjoy! The Editors
