OBAMA CLOSES VETERANS MEMORIAL TO VETERANS TO MAKE 15 MINUTE SPEECH AND PHOTO OP

President Obama
President Obama closed the Veteran's Memorial on Memorial Day in order to make a short speech.

While the incident has gone almost entirely unreported by this country’s mainstream media, the internet has been abuzz with eyewitness accounts: President Barack Obama’s decision to close the Vietnam Veterans Memorial for most of Memorial Day in order to make a 15-minute speech and photo-op.

It has outraged the friends and families of America’s fallen warriors throughout the country.

One visitor to the Memorial who was turned away by police described his experience:

“Hundreds if not thousands of Vietnam veterans and families of Vietnam veterans killed in Vietnam stood in disbelief as Secret Service, Park Police, Washington DC Police, etc., blocked all access to the Vietnam Memorial and kept everyone approximately 100 yards away from their memorial for the first time in the history of the Memorial so Obama could get some photos of him at the Wall. Veterans in uniforms stood in the heat angered as Obama makes them wait. It was a photo op at their expense and families of those killed in Vietnam.”

Obama, who polls poorly among military personnel and their families, was hoping to close the gap among veterans between he and Republican challenger Mitt Romney. According to a recent Gallup poll 58 percent of vets prefer Romney compared to 34 percent who support Obama.

If word gets out about his insult to veterans on Memorial Day the gap is likely to widen.

Retired U.S. Army Lt. Gen. John Sylvester, a recipient of the Silver Star, also described what he saw. Unable to get an interview with any mainstream media outlets, he was forced to post his comments online:

“I just wanted a bunch of you to know about this travesty. When we were
turned away from The Wall, I went to lay wreaths on my Mom and Dad and Brother and Sister’s graves at Arlington. Guess what? They had that closed for the great man too!!! Not sure who his canned audiences were at either place but not many veterans, like the thousands of guys I saw going away pretty angry.”

Many veterans reportedly “flipped Obama the finger” as his motorcade drove past. Others proudly displayed their “Don’t Tread on Me” flags.

Obama, an expert on the usage of eloquently empty words, was in rare form: “They fought for a home they might never return to; they fought for buddies they’ll never forget. While their stories may be separated by hundreds of years and thousands of miles, they rest here, together. Side by side, row by row. Because each of them loved this country and everything it stands for more than life itself.”

Obama, more than any other politician, knows what short memories Americans have. He was clearly banking on veterans having equally short memories, as he has not only suspended hazard pay for deployed U.S. troops and terminated 157 Air Force Majors without retirement benefits, but also proposed a budget that would cut health care benefits for active duty and retired U.S. military while protecting union benefits.

In short, he is no friend to veterans or active duty military personnel and his Memorial Day insult reinforces this fact.
Mychal Massie, chairman of the National Leadership Network of Black Conservatives-Project 21, argues that this incident shows Obama’s true colors are neither black nor white but RED.

“Many of those who traveled to The (Vietnam Veterans) Wall on Memorial Day bear the living scars of their service in that horrific war,” said Massie. “They gave the very best they had to keep Southeast Asia from becoming the very thing Obama is doing his best to turn America into – a Marxist-Leninist state.”

In 2008, Massie was recognized by the Conservative Party of Suffolk, NY as the Conservative Man of the Year. His opinion of Obama is one shared by conservatives and veterans alike:

“This is the person who not only refused to place his hand over his heart during the Pledge of Allegiance, but also refused to say the Pledge. This is the person who demands all religious symbols be covered or removed when he is speaking at Jesuit and Catholic Universities … This is the person who earlier this year proposed cuts to the health benefits of military families both active-duty and retired, while not touching the extravagant benefits of unionized civil workers. And this is the person who, for the sake of his own aggrandizement, closed one of the most important monuments in America, preventing thousands of veterans and Americans from honoring our fallen heroes.”

Obama’s habit of exploiting history for his own designs drew an angry rebuke from Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk a week before the Memorial Day fiasco. During a high-profile White House ceremony Obama made reference to “a Polish death camp” while honoring a long-discredited “eyewitness” to alleged WWII atrocities.

Tusk described Obama’s comments as “a distortion of history.”

"When someone says 'Polish death camps,' it is as if there were no Nazis, no German responsibility, as if there was no Hitler," the prime minister said.

The honoree, Jan Karski, is regarded by many historians an opportunistic liar who invented a fantastic tale of infiltrating and escaping from a Nazi concentration camp. Raul Hilberg, author of the standard “The Destruction of the European Jews” said of Karski, “I would not put him in a footnote in my book.”

But Obama, knowing the Jewish vote will likely make or break his re-election hopes, is throwing the powerful lobby a bone regardless of Karski’s lack of credibility.

This, in a nutshell, is the real Barack Hussein Obama; willing to place on a pedestal a well-documented fraud while deliberately insulting the ultimate sacrifice made by America’s true heroes and their families.
