Mayor Paul Dyster’s facebook profile picture shows him with  his new best friend, Nik Wallenda

It seems as though Mayor Dyster has come full circle in his relationship with Nik Wallenda, the daredevil who put Niagara Falls in the world spotlight last month with his walk across the gorge on a tightrope.

If you remember, His Honor was at first cool to Wallenda coming to Niagara Falls to live out his dream, invited by NFR’s Roger Trevino and guided through the two-government bureaucracy by George Maziarz, neither figure a member of Dyster’s political club.

 But by walk time the mayor was Wallenda’s biggest booster, telling TV audiences and anyone within earshot how great the event was for Niagara Falls and how he helped put it all together in his role as chief executive.  Now, lo and behold, the mayor has decided to share some more glory with Wallenda and has put a picture of the two of them as his profile picture on his Facebook page. 

Along with the profile picture, there are several more photos on the mayor’s site showing the two of them together in various settings, best friends by the looks of it.   You can’t blame the mayor for trying to capitalize on one of the bright spots of recent Niagara Falls’ history, even if it took him a little while to figure it out.  Better late than never, I guess.  Good luck, you guys.
