Why Americans should have the right to own guns.

The second amendment was created not just for Americans to have the right to defend themselves from individuals who might do them harm, but to defend themselves from tyrannical government, like the people did in 1776.

Imagine if the Brits had imposed gun control on early Americans. We would still be part of Great Britain.

Should a dictator rise to take our freedoms, do you want a defenseless people? If another country were to suddenly seize the White House, or seize authority, would you want every American unarmed?

The goal of taking arms from Americans is, whether intentionally or not, nothing more than the goal of giving some future government the power to be tyrants without fear.

No matter how bad a government may get, no matter how tyrannical, there can never be revolution, for the people are not armed. Yet this country was based upon - we celebrate - a revolution from oppressive government.
