Rainbow Tropical Fish offers great service

Rainbow Tropical Fish is the home of the $0.99 daily tropical fish special.

Everyone has heard about the one that got away. When it comes to Rainbow Tropical Fish, this is a fish tale to hold onto. The store, currently located at 2314 Niagara Falls Boulevard, is moving to 2412 Military Road the week of December 24, and there will be a grand re-opening on January 2, 2013. There will be a pet photographer on hand, so customers can get a New Year’s photo with their pet.

Owner Dominic Florio is happy about the move to a larger location, but remains focused on serving his customers. During the move, the store won’t be officially open, but he will be available, if needed. “We don’t want anyone to go without. Just call one of my numbers and we’ll take care of you.”

Florio offers an ongoing sale, 99 cent fish every day, rotating the type of fish being made available. The store does special orders, sells fish food, plants, and, of course, aquariums and their related supplies.

The larger fish tanks and kits are a real attraction. Glo fish are popular with children. “The kids love them,” Florio says.
Florio has been doing this for ten years and does a significant amount of business over the Internet. He says one third of his sales are online. “We ship fish all over the country. I’ve sent fish to Puerto Rico. We’ve sent dry good to Korea.”

Rainbow Tropical Fish specializes in being a retail outlet for fish consumers. They provide feeder fish, shrimp, and package their own bulk foods. “We like to give the customers a variety.” Florio operates the business with his partner, Tammy Calhoun.
With the holidays approaching, Florio thinks an aquarium is an ideal gift. “They are very relaxing,” he says. “You can stare at them for hours. That’s why they’re there in doctors’ and dentists’ offices.”

Whatever your needs, Rainbow Tropical Fish is likely able to deliver. Their new phone number is 262-1123.
