Remains of unidentified woman with
ankle tattoo found in river.

On August 11, 2012, unidentified human remains were recovered from the lower Niagara River in the City of Niagara Falls. It appears the body was in the water for 1 to 3 days.

The body was removed from the River by the New York State Park Police Swift Water Rescue Team and taken to the Erie County Medical Examiners Office for an autopsy under the direction of Niagara County Coroner Cindy-Lou Joyce.

The victim is described as a female 25 to 40 years of age, Height 5’06” weight 177lbs, black hair 15 inches in length, with 3 to 4 piercings in each ear and a tattoo of a rose on the right ankle.
